The Tennessee Back Porch

Grace loved spending time on the back porch at Grandma Sharon and Pawpaw Bill's house. The weather was perfect. She loves the outdoors and everything that goes on outside. Since it is July and we are in Texas right now, she's not getting a lot of the outdoor life. But she will in a couple of months.

She will soon be 4 months. It's hard to believe. She has started to play with hanging toys and holds things in her hands. And she talks like you wouldn't believe. Her conversations are getting longer every day. We are trying to catch her on video. When we get a good one, we'll share. I know we will remember how talking with her made us feel, but I don't know that we will remember her voice. Maybe we will...

She has discovered her thumb. When the pacifier falls out, she sometimes replaces it with her thumb. We try to redirect her to the pacifier when we can. But mom and dad can't be everywhere all the time. I went to wake her up one morning and she was full blown sucking her thumb. It's not a habit yet and we hope it stays that way.

She is always happy in the morning. If she gets up before I do, she is smiling and talking when I go to get her. If I have to wake her up, it takes a few minutes for her to start the happy dance. I am not a morning person at all. As most of you know. But I don't mind getting up with her. Her giggle makes me forget all about what time it is. Yet one more thing that motherhood does to you. It's been an interesting adventure so far. And I know I still have so much to experience.

Here she is napping on the back porch.

And visiting with cousin Avery.

Hanging out with Pawpaw Ray.

Finally with mom and dad. She loved the breeze. I can't help it. I love her!
