The Formal 1 Year Photos

So we took Grace to get some "studio" shots of her milestone 1 year birthday. During the weeks before Easter, the studio brings in animals to use with the kids. Easter animals like ducks, chicks, bunnies, lambs, etc. This was definitely a learning experience.

We scheduled the shoot for 9am. Grace is usually in a pretty good mood in the mornings after breakfast. And she was on this day as well. We took a couple of outfit changes just in case. I didn't know what to expect and what colors they would use. First few shots were of Grace by herself. And she giggled and cooed like a pro. Then they brought out the chicks. She was very curious. And wasn't upset... Until her mom, that would be me, started strongly telling her to be careful with the chicks. And saying NO! when she would get ahold of one. I was worried for the little things. I should have been quite. She started crying like you wouldn't believe. Evidently the chick mommies are much harder on them than Grace was. I'll be nice and silent next time. But they still did get some good shots.
