2006 Jan - Jun

2006 was another year of adventures and changes.

In January, we moved into our new home. Since we purchased it so early in the process, we got to choose several of the options. One of which was the color. I can’t believe Tim let me paint the house red!

Here’s Danny and Gretchen (Tim’s dad and step-mother) enjoying themselves at a function.

March marked Cinco’s first birthday. We couldn’t let the big day slip by without some sort of celebration. I had a cake make for him. OK, it was really for us, but he did get a small piece.

He wasn’t quite sure what to make of it. He barked and backed away at first. But once his piece was cut, he was ready for it.

Danny and Gretchen visited us in March and were present for Cinco’s birthday celebration. During their visit, Tim played host. They made a quick day trip to Vancouver.

And visited the aquarium in Seattle. Tim is holding on tight to the whale fin!

April does bring showers, especially to Seattle! But it also brings some beautiful rainbows. Tim took this picture from our back porch.

Also in April, Tim's mom Kay married the fabulous John. They had a small service in the Texas hill country. We couldn't make it in for the big event. But the location had a live feed that allowed us to watch. I took several screen shots. None of which are crystal clear, but if you know who you are looking for, you can make it out. Here they are facing out, under the left side of the arch.

May was still a little chilly, so I spent some evenings inside working those addictive Sudoku puzzles. Cinco is trying to help.

June was absolutely beautiful. The winter had short, cold, wet gloomy days. But the summer had extremely long and gorgeous days. One of my favorite things to do on the weekends was to visit Pike Place Market in Seattle. You could get the huge bouquets of flowers for about $20-$30. I liked having those in the house. Fresh flowers brighten any home.

More to come.
